COLUMBUS, Ohio – Penn State men's golf junior Patrick Sheehan and graduate student Lou Olsakovsky saved their best for last, both carding their lowest rounds on the final day of the NCAA Columbus Regional Wednesday.
 
Sheehan shot an even 71 Wednesday to move up seven spots and finish the 54-hole event at 5-over, 218, and in a tie for 37th place.
 
Olsakovsky shot a 1-over, 72, in Wednesday's third and final round to finish at 13-over, 226. His strong final round moved him up four spots into a tie for 66th place.
 
The NCAA Regionals performances of Sheehan and Olsakovsky puts a bow on their stellar 2021-22 seasons. The Nittany Lion duo ranked first and second on the team in stroke average and combined for eight top-10 finishes and 14 top-15 placements throughout the season.
 
Sheehan and Olsakovsky were the first Nittany Lions to earn individual bids to NCAA Regionals since former All-American T.J. Howe in 2011. The Nittany Lions earned NCAA Regional bids as a team for four-straight years from 2015-18 and have made 24 appearances as a team in program history.
