UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Eight former Penn State men's soccer players are currently competing at the professional level in the United States.
The list includes Danny Bloyou, Brandon Hackenberg and Pierre Reedy who helped Penn State capture both the Big Ten Regular Season and Big Ten Tournament championship crowns in the fall.

Matt Bersano – GK (2015) – San Jose Earthquakes (MLS)
- Playing fifth season with the club after signing multi-year contract on March 13, 2017 and re-signing new deal in Jan. 2022
- In 2017 was loaned out to San Jose's USL affiliate Reno 1868 FC, where he was named the team's Goalkeeper of the Year at the end of the season.
- Has made 60 appearances with the club and has featured in 21 shutouts.
- In May, made five saves before a shootout with Seattle Sounders in Round of 16 US Open Cup. Successfully defended through 11th round of penalty kicks for the 10-9 PK victory.
- Played from 2011-14 at Oregon State
Danny Bloyou – F (2020-2021) – FC Tucson (USL1)
- Originally drafted 75th overall by Atlanta United FC in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft
- Signed with FC Tucson on March 8, 2022
- Has made four appearances including one start on April 2 against the Richmond Kickers
Brandon Hackenberg – D (2016-2021) – Orlando City B (MLS NEXT Pro)
- Was selected in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft by Orlando City
- Signed with team's reserve affiliate, Orlando City B in MLS NEXT Pro.
- Made professional debut on March 26, 2022 in the season opener vs Chicago.
- Scored first professional goal in the 31st minute vs Inter Miami II on May 21, 2022
- Has started eight of 11 games he has played in
Corey Hertzog – F (2008-2010) – Hartford Athletic (USL Championship)
- Signed with Hartford Athletic in 2022; has appeared in eight matches with one goal and one assist
- Spent the 2021 season with fellow USL Championship club San Diego Loyal SC, where he played over 2,000 minutes across 31 games and scored six goals with five assists
- Played at various other USL Championship clubs including the Tampa Bay Rowdies, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, Saint Louis FC and Reno 1868 FC, where he scored 27 goals and tallied 10 assists across two seasons in 2019 and 2020
- Hertzog's 74 regular-season goals are the second-most in league history
- Has recorded six goals in the USL Championship Playoffs in his career
- Was selected 13th overall in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft by the New York Red Bulls and spent a season with the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2013.
Connor Maloney – FB (2013-2016) – San Antonio FC (USL Championship)
- Joined San Antonio FC on January 6, 2020 and made club debut making his club debut on March 7
- Appeared in 16 matches before season was paused due to COVID-19; tallied two assists upon season return
- Played in 23 matches in 2021 while recording two assists
- In third season with the club in 2022, has already appeared in 14 matches with three assists.
- Was drafted in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft by Columbus Crew
Aaron Molloy – M (2017-2019) – Memphis 901 (USL Championship)
- Currently plays with Memphis 901
- Has played 13 matches, tallying four goals and two assists
- Previously signed with USL League I club Forward Madison FC in 2021
- Invited to the 2020 MLS Combine and was subsequently drafted by the Portland Timbers as the 16th pick. Signed with Portland Timbers II.
Noah Pilato – M (2014-2018) – Greenville Triumph SC (USL1)
- Entering third year with the Greenville Triumph in 2022 after a back injury limited the 2020 All-League midfielder to seven appearances in 2021
- Has made four appearances this season
- In first year with GTSC tallied 1,311 minutes, starting all 16 matches and scoring three goals
- Previously played 13 matches with USL Championship club London United in 2019
Pierre Reedy – M (2016-2021) – Real Monarchs (MLS NEXT Pro)
- Signed with Real Monarchs after impressing as a trialist during Real Salt Lake's preseason in 2022.
- Started for Real Salt Lake in its preseason match against Minnesota United, while also earning playing time against Viking FK and Portland Timbers as a substitute
- Has started 11 of 13 games this season with Real Monarchs
- Tallied first professional assist on May 8 vs Sporting Kansas City II.
- Also took a season-high four shots on May 8 vs Sporting Kansas City II.
