McMenamin Claims Academic All-America Accolades

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State men's track and field student-athlete Connor McMenamin has been named a third team Academic All-American as announced by CoSIDA Wednesday.

The Academic All-America award recognizes the very best student-athletes in the nation, honoring both athletic achievements and academic accomplishments.

McMenamin, a graduate transfer, owns a perfect 4.0 GPA in his international affairs graduate program at Penn State and graduated with dual bachelor's degrees in economics and international relations from Bucknell in 2021 with a 3.91 undergraduate GPA.

McMenamin joins Victoria Tachinski (announced Tuesday) as 2022 Academic All-Americans, marking the first time since 1997 that two Penn State track and field athletes earned Academic All-America distinction in the same season.

McMenamin capped off his collegiate career this spring as an NCAA East Prelims qualifier in the 3,000m steeplechase, an event in which he owns a top-10 time in Penn State history. He was a four-time All-Patriot League selection in the 3,000m steeplechase and cross country during his undergraduate career at Bucknell.
