UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics announced it will host a Roar & Rally to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Title IX on Thursday, June 23. The Roar & Rally will begin with a one-mile walk, which will start at the We Are statue on the corner of Curtin Road and University Drive, and will finish on the Old Main Lawn.
Check-in for the Roar & Rally opens at 11 a.m. and will take place in the Stadium West parking lot at the corner of University Drive and Curtin Road. The Roar & Rally from the We Are statue will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will commence on the Old Main Lawn where a rally will be held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Title IX. At 12:05 p.m. the rally with begin with a number of speakers to celebrate and share their experiences relating to Title IX.
Registration for the Roar & Rally is available at https://gopsusports.com/roarandrally. Registration is free and participants who register by June 15 will receive a 50th anniversary of Title IX t-shirt. Participants will also receive rally towels and snacks while supplies last.

June 23, 2022 marks the 50th Anniversary of Title IX, which was signed into law by President Richard Nixon in 1972 as part of the Education Amendments of 1972. It states: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity.
