Cross Country Releases 2022 Schedule

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State cross country program has announced its upcoming meet schedule for the 2022 season on Thursday.

The Nittany Lions have four regular-season meets on the calendar and will host three total events, including the 2022 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Nov. 11.

"I am excited about our cross country schedule for the fall," said head coach John Gondak. "We host our traditional home competitions along with challenging our program at the Notre Dame Invitational. These races will set us up well for postseason where we will travel to Michigan for the Big Ten Championships and then host the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. It is always an amazing experience for our student-athletes when we get to host the Regional Championship."

Penn State will begin the year at Lock Haven for the Dolan Duals Sept. 2. The following meet will be the first hosted by the Nittany Lions this year, the Spiked Shoe Invitational, on Sept. 9.

The Nittany Lions will travel to South Bend for the Notre Dame Invitational Sept. 30 before concluding the regular season back in State College for the Penn State National Open Oct. 14.

The 2022 postseason starts Big Ten Championships hosted by Michigan Oct. 28. The NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional follows as Penn State's third event of the season, the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, on Nov. 11. In additional NCAA regional site news, Penn State was also selected as the host site for the 2024 Mid-Atlantic Regional as announced by the NCAA earlier this week.

The final event of the 2022 season will be the NCAA Championships hosted by Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla. Nov. 19.
