FULL 2022-23 SCHEDULE
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – On Monday morning the Big Ten announced its complete 2022-23 men's hockey schedule with each team playing each other a total of four times, twice at home and twice on the road.
Penn State, which announced its 10-game, non-conference schedule back in June, opens Big Ten play on the road for the third-straight season and the sixth time in the now 10 seasons of Big Ten Hockey. The Nittany Lions are 5-4-0 all-time in Big Ten openers but have lost the first conference game of the year each of the past two seasons.
Coming off an up-and-down 17-20-1 record a season ago, Penn State opens Big Ten play against its most familiar foe, the Wisconsin Badgers, in Madison on October 28-29.
The following weekend the Nittany Lions return to Pegula Ice Arena for their Big Ten home opener against the 2022 Big Ten Tournament champion Michigan Wolverines on November 4-5 before returning to the Midwest with a Thursday-Friday clash against the reigning Big Ten regular-season champions, Minnesota, on November 11-12.
Penn State then plays its next four conference games and six overall at home as it hosts Michigan State the weekend prior to Thanksgiving on November 18-19 before welcoming the Ohio State Buckeyes to Hockey Valley on December 2-3 with a non-conference series against Alaska sandwiched in between.
PSU closes out the opening semester of action with a trip to South Bend to battle Notre Dame on December 9-10.
Following a home-and-home New Year's tilt with RIT, Penn State resumes conference play on the road in East Lansing on January 13-14 before returning home the following weekend to face Notre Dame.
The Nittany Lions then travel back-to-back weekends to Michigan (January 27-28) and Ohio State (February 2-3) before their final bye-week of the 2022-23 season.
Following the bye, Penn State closes its campaign with a pair of home series against Minnesota and Wisconsin on February 17-18 and February 24-25, respectively.
All dates and times are subject to change with additional game times for certain contests set to be released based on football kick times. The television schedule as well as more information regarding single-game ticket sales will also be announced in the coming weeks.
