Penn State Men’s Swimming and Diving Team sweeps Villanova

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State men's swimming and diving team defeated Villanova with a score of  215 to 81 on senior recognition night in the McCoy Natatorium on Friday.

Senior Day
Today was Senior Day, sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association, where 17 seniors were recognized. The senior men included William Lulek, Devon Chenot, Carlos Vasquez, Michael Daly, Jonah Cey, and Logan Krabbe.
 
Top Swimmers
In the 200 Medley, Penn State placed first, second, and third. The first-place team of seniors had the time of 1:31.34 and the team contributors were Michael Daly, William Lulek, Carlos Vasquez, and Devon Chenot. In the 1,000 free, Eduardo Moraes came in first with a time of 9:15.89. In the 200 free, Henry Radzikowski came in first with a time of 1:42.49. Daly came in first place in the 100 back with a time of 48.89. 
 
In the 100 breast, Ben Doyle came in first with a time of 54.21. Vasquez earned first place in the 200 fly with a time of 1:52.61. In the 50 free, Tommy Hurley came in first place with a time of 20.67. In the 100 free, Victor Baganha came in first place with a time of 44.60. In the 200 back, Jack Harvey earned first place with a time of 1:50.48. Miles Cochrane came in first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:03.16. In the 500 free, Samuel Rennard came in first with a time of 4:40.01. In the 100 fly, Doyle earned first place with a time of 49.61. Lastly, in the 200 IM, Lulek placed first with a time of 1:52.99.
 
Diving
In the 1m dive, Jonah Cey earned first place with a score of 293.40. 
 
In the 3m dive, Cey also came in first place with a score of 350.40.
 
What is next
The men will prepare for the Big Ten Championships in West Lafayette, Indiana at Purdue, which will begin on Wednesday Feb. 23 and will conclude that Saturday, Jan. 26
