UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's and women's cross country teams host the Penn State National Open, both squads' final home meet before the postseason slate, on Friday, October 14 at the Penn State Golf Courses.
The women will run a 6K race beginning at 10:45 a.m. and the men will follow with a 5.2-mile race at 11:30 a.m.
Both the men and the women seek a bounce-back outing after a taking on nationally ranked competition at the Notre Dame Invitational in their last time out.

PENN STATE OUTLOOK
- The women's team slid to No. 4 in the Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings when the last polls were announced on October 3.
- The men's squad fell to No. 10 in the same poll.
- Both squads took on tough, nationally ranked competition last time out at the Notre Dame Invitational on Sept. 30 where the women and men placed 12th and 21st in their respective races.
- Faith DeMars topped the women's squad at the Notre Dame Invitational with a 16:50.7 5K time in her first race since her outright win at the Dolan Duels on Sept. 2.
- Madaline Ullom kept pace and finished second on the squad for the third straight meet with a 5K time of 16:52.5.
- On the men's side, Jonah Powell led the Nittany Lions for the first time in his career, finishing with a five-mile time of 24:50.0.
- Brendan Colwell slotted in behind Powell with a time of 25:04.0 and has yet to finish outside the top-two for the Nittany Lions this season.
- This race marks the team's last regular season outing before traveling to Ann Arbor for the Big Ten Championships on October 28.
