POSTGAME NOTES: Penn State vs. Minnesota

TEAM

  • Penn State is now 10-6 all-time against Minnesota.
  • The Nittany Lions hold an 8-6 record in full-stadium Penn State White Outs.

  • The redshirt senior connected with Parker Washington on a 35-yard score in the third quarter. He then threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Mitchell Tinsley late in the quarter.
  • Clifford earned his 29th career game with multiple touchdown passes, 15th career game with three touchdown passes and fifth career game with four touchdown passes.
  • Clifford has now recorded multiple touchdown passes in a half for 21 times in his career and has recorded multiple touchdowns in a quarter on 14 occasions
  • On a 4-yard pass in the first quarter, Clifford went over the 9,000 career passing yards mark, becoming the second Nittany Lion to earn 9,000 career passing yards. He currently has 9,284 yards.

Nicholas Singleton

  • RB Nicholas Singleton rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.
  • Singleton scored on runs of 16 and 30 yards. It was his third game with multiple rushing touchdowns this season.
  • He now has four touchdowns of 30 or more yards this season.
  • Singleton now has seven rushing touchdowns, tying Saquon Barkley (7; 2015) for the second-most by a Penn State freshman. Only Noah Cain (8; 2019) has more rushing touchdowns as a PSU freshman.

  • Singleton recorded a 22-yard reception in the second quarter. It was his longest career reception, topping his 11-yard grab vs. Northwestern.

Kaytron Allen

  • RB Kaytron Allen rushed for 77 yards on 15 carries.

Parker Washington

  • WR Parker Washington caught seven passes for 70 yards and a touchdown.
  • Washington hauled in a 35-yard touchdown in the third quarter. It was his 11th career touchdown reception and first this season.
  • With the touchdown reception, Washington tied Tony Johnson (11; 2000-03), Scott Fitzkee (11; 1975-78), Freddie Scott (11; 1993-95) and Jesse James (11; 2012-14) for 16th all-time.
  • The 35-yard grab was Washington's 27th career reception of 20 or more yards.
  • Washington has caught a pass in all 29 games of his career.
  • With seven receptions on the day, Washington now has 130 for his career. He moved into 10th all-time at Penn State, leaping O.J. McDuffie (125; 1988-92) and Mike Gesicki (129; 2014-17).

Mitchell Tinsley

  • WR Mitchell Tinsley collected four catches for 58 yards and a touchdown.
  • Tinsley hauled in a 30-yard grab in the second quarter and a 20-yard touchdown in the third quarter. He now has 31 career receptions of 20 or more yards (five at Penn State).
  • Tinsley's 20-yard score was his 22nd career touchdown grab and his fourth at Penn State.

Theo Johnson

  • TE Theo Johnson tallied five catches for a career-high 75 yards and a touchdown. His previous high was 42 against Illinois in 2020.
