Nittany Lion Fencers Conclude Day 1 of Temple Open
Women's events make up Saturday Action in Philadelphia
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's and women's fencing teams traveled to Philadelphia for the 42nd Annual Temple Open. The first day of competition was dedicated to the women's events.
Samantha Catantan led the women as she tied for third place in the women's foil event. Arianna Proietti finished in 17th place, with Grace Seal at 20th. Ariel Ratsep and Claire Haas also participated in this event.
In women's epee, Axelle Wasiak finished in 18th place with Nirali Igoe at 22nd.
Ola Strzalkowski finished at 27th place in women's sabre with Alexa Horan and Mia Novick taking 32nd and 33rd place.
