Tulsa, Okla. -- Penn State men's tennis finished up action during day two of the 2022 ITA All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. on Sunday.
After a strong showing on Saturday, senior Charl Morgan and sophomore Loren Byers fell short of the round of 32 in losses on Sunday morning. Morgan was defeated by Oklahoma State's Alejandro Garcia in a 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 match, while Loren Byers lost to Carlos Hernandez of Mississippi State 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Four Nittany Lions saw action in the prequalifying consolation round.
Malik Bhatnagar was bested by Calvin Mueller from Nebraska in a 6-4, 6-1 match. Harrison Janes lost Liberty's Beau Pelletier 6-2, 6-4. Sam Bossem took Oral Roberts' Ezequiel Monferrer to three sets before falling, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. Miko Eala also suffered a loss against Oklahoma's Nathan Han, 7-6(1), 6-2.
Doubles action kicks off on Monday with Morgan and Eala pairing up against Jack Winkler and Julian Steinhausen of Southern Methodist. The match is slated for 1:00 p.m. CT at the Case Tennis Center in LaFortune Park.
