Penn State Fencing Sweeps Competition, Takes Gold in All Events 
Nittany Lion fencing closes out a strong weekend at the Garret Penn State Open
 
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The second day of Garret Penn State Open action continued today at the White Building with the men's foil, epee and sabre events. The Garret Penn State Open is Penn State fencing's second of three total home events this year. 
 
Leading the men in foil and taking home gold was junior Aidan Johnson. Arwen Borowiak took home bronze, with Caiden Cannon and Donavyn Martinez at seventh and eighth place. Dusan Zeljkovic, Alejandro Toro and Konner Paik also competed in men's foil. 
 
Stafford Moosekian finished on top with teammates Jonathan Piskovatskov and Tingwei Xu taking silver and bronze in men's epee. Mitchel Bekker placed fifth and Noe Sitbon-Taylor placed ninth. Devin Tafoya, Hassan Sultan, Zachary Suico, Nicholas Glaz and Peter Kambeseles also participated in this event. 
 
For Penn State's men's sabre squad, Clement Perrier grabbed gold with Neil Lilov taking fifth place and Jeffrey Basalyga coming in at 11th. 
 
Interim Head Coach Adam Kaszubowski said, "It was a very intensive weekend, we had a lot of bouts with some nice, strong teams visiting. This weekend showed that our preparation is going good. Penn State is a great university and the program is doing great. I'm so proud of all of them." 
 
The Penn State Men's and Women's fencing teams will next travel to Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. on Dec. 4th to compete against the fencing teams of NYU, Harvard, Princeton, Vassar and NJIT.
