UNIVERSITY PARK — In its final non-conference battle of the regular season, Penn State (9-4) took down Cornell (6-6) 79-48 in the Bryce Jordan Center Wednesday.
Penn State started off hot, shooting 58 percent from the field while holding Cornell to 22 percent in the first period. The Lady Lions spread the ball around, with five different players making seven field goals.
In the second period, Penn State outscored Cornell 21-7. By the break, the Lady Lions forced 17 turnovers and cashed them in for 15 points while building their lead to 24 points at the half.
The Lady Lions kept rolling in the third, leading by as much as 28 points. Cornell would go on a late eight-point run to come within 20 points. Makenna Marisa silenced the run with a three-pointer that put her in double digits (12 points).
Penn State stayed on the gas in the final period, leading by as much as 35 points. Highlighting the Lady Lions finished, Anna Camden drilled two three-pointers to net her 200th career field goal and 100 career three-pointers.

- Marisa (1,473) moved into 15th place in career scoring in program history, passing Katina Mack (1992-96, 1,463 points) and Jess Strom (2002-05, 1,466).
- Marisa recorded her 68th career double figure game.
- Ali Brigham got her first start of the season and finished with nine points and seven boards.
- Leading Penn State with 13 points, Kapinus reached her 25th career game in double figures.
- Kapinus is 17 for 19 from the line in her last four games.
- Taniyah Thompson notched her 500th career made field goal along with a career-high five steals.
- With 10 points, Shay Ciezki has had eight double figure games this season.
- Chanaya Pinto got career-highs in steals (five) and assists (seven).
- Aicha Dia scored a season-high six points.
- Penn State forced 28 Cornell turnovers, the sixth opponent to have 25+ turnovers this season.
- 11 Lady Lions produced points as Penn State had 27 points from the bench.
- Penn State had a decisive advantage in points from turnovers (37-11), points in paint (46-14) and fastbreak points (28-12).
