UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State softball fifth-year pitcher Bailey Parshall has been named to the D1Softball Preseason D100 as one of the top 100 players entering the 2023 season announced on Tuesday.
Ranking No. 60 on the preseason list, Parshall readies for the 2023 season after an outstanding 2022 campaign where she collected numerous accolades including NFCA All-American Third Team, NFCA Great Lakes All-Region and All-Big Ten First Team.
She posted a 22-9 record with a 1.68 ERA in 212.1 innings in the circle. With 211 punchouts, Parshall became the third player (fifth occurrence) in school history to record over 200 strikeouts in a single season, and she had five performances with 10 or more strikeouts.
The Nittany Lions will begin their season with a doubleheader at the Kickin' Chicken Classic hosted by Coastal Carolina in Conway, South Carolina against South Dakota and Towson on Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. and 12:30 a.m., respectively.
