Penn State Blanks Harvard, 7-0

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Penn State women's tennis (2-2) team defeated Harvard (3-2) at LSU, 7-0, on Saturday. 
 
DOUBLES 


The Nittany Lions collected wins on courts two and three to collect the doubles point. 
 
Yvonne Zuffova and Alexandra Nielsen handily defeated Sany Gawande and Angel You 6-1. Carla Girbau and Ioana Gheorghita won their match against Iveta Daujotaite and Charlotte Owensby, 6-4, to the clinch the doubles point for the Blue and White.

SINGLES
 
Penn State walked away with six singles wins to execute the sweep over Harvard.
 
No. 53 ranked Sofiya Chekhlystova bested Charlotte Owensby, 6-3, 6-3. Karly Friedland continued the Nittany Lions' success by defeating Iveta Daujotaite, 6-3, 6-2. 
 
Olivia Dorner and Ioana Gheorghita both walked away from their matches with wins for the Blue and White. Dorner emerged victorious against Sany Gawande, 6-2, 6-4. Gheorghita secured her match versus Sany Gawande, 6-4, 6-4.
 
Carla Girbau won her match after Sophia Ho forfeited. Yvonne Zuffova finished the blank for Penn State by collecting a win over Maxi Duncan, 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 10-6.
