COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Makenna Marisa led the Lady Lions with 23 points as Penn State fell 87-66 at No. 8/11 Maryland Monday night in the Xfinity Center.
A 29-point first quarter established momentum for the Terrapins that Penn State was unable to overcome.
After trailing 41-18 at halftime, the Lady Lions had a big third quarter where they improved to 73 percent from the field and outscored Maryland 31-25.

- Marisa achieved the 76th double-digit game and 34th career game with 20+ points.
- With three treys, Marisa is now tied for 7th all-time in program history with Tiffany Longworth (1994-97) in career three-pointers (175).
- Leilani Kapinus finished with four steals and 10 rebounds. She has 14 games with 3+ steals this season and six career games with double digit boards.
- Taniyah Thompson netted 17 points for her 71st career 10+ point game and the ninth of the season.
- Penn State won the turnover margin, forcing 20 turnovers for the 13th game with opponents having 20+ turnovers, including seven in B1G play.
