Women’s Swimming & Diving Earn Multiple Top-Eight Finishes on Day Three of B1G Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Penn State women's swimming and diving continues its streak, scoring in every event of the B1G Championships Friday at Canham Natatorium.
 
"What this morning and tonight was about was our team fighting for every place and every point," said Penn State head coach Tim Murphy. "The same thing, and even more, has to happen tomorrow morning if we want to finish this meet off the way we want to. "
 
"Daphne (Wils) had a great finish in finals and dove better than preliminaries," said Penn State diving coach Jeff DiNicola. "I felt really happy with a seventh place finish for her. She has overcome some injury challenges and persevered to have best success for any female diver for Penn State at the B1G conference meet."

Swimming: 
Standout freshman Catherine Meisner led the Nittany Lions in the pool, earning her first championship A-Final appearance in the 200 Free. This evening, Meisner placed seventh in the event, scoring 23 points with a time of 1:45.96.
 
Captain Emma Harvey scored twice in the 100 Fly (53.52) and the 100 Back (53.44). The senior notably won the C-Final of the latter, competing alongside junior Casey Loughlin (54.01).
 
Sophomore Molly Carson led Penn State in 15th in the 100 Back (53.89), adding 12 points to the team's tally, which rose to 375 after today's final events.  
 
Three Nittany Lions swam their way to finals in the 400 IM. Junior Abby Henderson, freshman Julia Meisner and senior Shannon Meadway earned a combined 22 points, finishing 14th, 18th and 23rd.
 
Graduate student Olivia Jack represented Penn State in finals of the 100 Breast (1:01.41), taking 12th for 15 more points for the women's team. 
 
Diving:
Graduate student Daphne Wils earned her second appearance in championship finals, qualifying in the 3-Meter Dive (317.25) during prelims and placing seventh in the conference this evening (330.90). 

Relay:
Penn State's 200 Free relay, Mary Brinker, Harvey, Ellie Tiskus and Cat Sanford, tied for fourth alongside Minnesota (1:29.50).

400 IM – Abby Henderson (13 Points), Julia Meisner (7 Points) and Shannon Meadway (2 Points)
 
200 Free – Catherine Meisner (23 Points)

100 Back – Molly Carson (12 Points), Emma Harvey (9 points) and Casey Loughlin (5 Points)
 
3-Meter – Daphne Wils (23 Points)
 
200 Free Relay – Mary Brinker, Emma Harvey, Ellie Tiskus, Cat Stanford (51 Points)
