Fencing Teams Head to Temple Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's and women's fencing teams will travel to Philadelphia to compete in the Temple University Invitational. All action will take place on Sunday, Feb. 26 beginning at 8:30 a.m. Both the men's and women's teams will fence simultaneously throughout the day.
 
The women's team will face Temple on strips one and two, Princeton on strips nine and 10 at 10 a.m., Penn at 11:30 a.m., SJU at 1:45 p.m. and Johns Hopkins at 3:15 p.m. on strips five and six.
 
The men will start off against Stevens Tech on strips three and four, Princeton on strips 11 and 12 at 10 a.m., Penn at 11:30 a.m., SJU at 1:45 p.m. on strips seven and eight, and will conclude against Johns Hopkins at 3:15 p.m.
 
Samantha Catantan, Arianna Proietti, Grace Seal, Clarisse Tan, Halah Keramane and Ariel Ratsep will compete in women's foil with Arwen Borowiak, Aidan Johnson, Donavyn Martinez, Dusan Zeljkovic and Caiden Cannon traveling for the men. 
 
In epee, the women will have Axelle Wasiak, Jordan Liverant, Jaclyn Khrol, Kateryna Chorniy and Nirali Igoe. The men will bring Ryan Griffiths, Jonathan Piskovatskov, Peter Kambeseles, Nicholas Glaz and Mitchel Bekker
 
The sabre squad will consist of Amelia Baker, Mia Novick, Ola Strzalkowski and Aurora Colter for the women, with Neil Lilov, Nicholaus Zielinski, Fernando Chacon and Clement Perrier representing the men. 
 
The Temple Invitational will be the last tournament for both teams before the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals being held at Lafayette College on March 11.
