LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Penn State men's tennis team (10-3) lost a tough 6-1 road match to No. 64 South Florida (5-9) at the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
DOUBLES
South Florida secured the doubles point with wins on courts one and two.
On No. 2, Sam Bossem and Loren Byers fell to Erik Grevelius and Alvin Tudorica in a 6-1 decision, before Malik Bhatnagar and Charl Morgan were handed a 6-2 defeat by Bulls' Davide Tortora and Bruno Oliveira.
Miko Eala and Stefan Simeunovic went 3-4, unfinished across from Thomas Pavlekovich-Smith and Tom Pisane on court three.
SINGLES
Bossem earned the equalizer for Penn State on court four in aa 6-4, 6-0 decision over Elijah Cham to make it 1-1. South Florida earned two courts back for a 3-1 dual match lead when Eala fell to Alvin Tudorica, 6-4, 6-1 and Simeunovic lost 6-4, 6-1 opposite Tom Pisane.
The Bulls clinched as Bhatnagar lost a 6-4, 7-6(4) match to Tom Pavlekovich on No. 4. South Florida collected victories on courts one and two to close out the 6-1 match.
