UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State men's lacrosse sophomore midfielder Matt Traynor was named to the Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American Second Team on Friday afternoon. This is his first Inside Lacrosse All-American honor in his career.
Traynor has been off to a hot start in midfield as he's recorded 19 goals alongside seven assists for 26 points. He sits tied for first on the team in goals and second on the team in points. Among the national ranks, he sits 19th in man-up goals with four on the year and sits tied for fifth in the Big Ten in goals per game at 2.38.
The sophomore has tallied at least one goal in all eight games he's played this season and has tallied two five goal games against Lafayette and Yale. He's recorded a total of three hat-tricks this season as well.
Seniors Grant Haus and Jack Posey were also named Midseason All-American honorable mentions as well.
Traynor and the rest of the Nittany Lions return to action on Sunday, April 2 when they host Ohio State at noon.
