UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's volleyball's Cal Fisher was named the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, earning the award for his performance in the Nittany Lions' two wins at George Mason over the weekend.
Fisher averaged 5.50 points/set in the two wins, hitting .479 with 27 kills (4.50/set), six blocks (1.00/set) and three aces. He totaled 13 kills in the first match and then dominated in the second win with 14 kills on .591 hitting.
It's the second EIVA Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season for Fisher. He has won five in his career.
Penn State is 22-3 overall and 8-0 in the conference. The Lions clinched their third consecutive EIVA regular season title and earned the right to host the conference tournament with its two wins over George Mason.
The Lions have two matches remaining in the regular season. They host conference foe Charleston (WV) in the South Gym at Rec Hall on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m. Senior Day will be celebrated prior to Saturday's match.
