ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Penn State men's tennis team (13-6, 0-5 B1G) dropped a hard-fought 4-3 match to the No. 4 Michigan Wolverines (18-2, 5-0 B1G) in Ann Arbor on Friday evening.
DOUBLES
The Nittany Lions took courts two and three to secure the first point of the match.
Malik Bhatnagar and Charl Morgan lost 6-3 on No. 1 to Andrew Fenty and Gavin Young, before Miko Eala and Stefan Simeunovic earned the equalizer in a 6-3 decision on court three.
Sam Bossem and Loren byers clinched the doubles point in a 6-4 victory over Ondrej Styler and Jacob Bickersteth.
SINGLES
The Wolverines earned two quick singles wins on courts two and five to take the match lead. Grabbing the equalizer, Eala downed No. 45 Gavin Young in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. Bossem regained the lead in a 7-5, 6-3 decision on court four over Ehrenschneider.
Michigan won courts two and six to clinch the match, 4-3.

"Competing outside can certainly neutralize any strengths; and today we pressed #4 Michigan to the end," said associate head coach Paul Tobin. ":fter taking the doubles point, we knew Michigan was not going to just lay down. Sam Bossem and Miko Eala gave us two more points and Loren Byers split. I thought his second set win momentum would have carried over, but Michigan stepped up. Overall, great fight and now need to focus on Michigan State, Ohio State, Indiana and Purdue."
