Women’s Golf Announces 2023 Fall Schedule

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Head coach Kristen Simpson and the Penn State women's golf team announced its 2023 fall schedule earlier this week. The Nittany Lions will compete in four tournaments this coming fall.

Penn State has a very familiar scheduled lined up for the fall season once again beginning the year at Yeaman's Hall in Hanahan, South Carolina for the 19th annual Cougar Classic on September 11-12.

Just four days later the Nittany Lions return to Happy Valley looking to defend their title at the 47th annual Nittany Lion Invitational on September 16-17 before taking a few weeks off to close out the month of September.
Penn State returns to competition on October 6-8 at the fifth annual Evie Odom Invitational in Virginia Beach, Virginia, formerly the Princess Anne Invitational.

The Nittany Lions then conclude their fall slate in familiar fashion in late October at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, North Carolina on October 27-29.

Penn State is coming off one of its most consistent seasons in recent memory during the 2022-23 campaign as the Nittany Lions had eight top-10's in 12 tournaments last season including a victory at the inaugural National Golf Invitational in May.

The Nittany Lions lost a good amount of fire power at the top of their lineup with the departure of Sarah Willis (Eaton, Ohio) and Isha Dhruva (Katy, Texas); however, Mathilde Delavallade (Royan, France) has opted to use her extra year of eligibility received in result of the COVID-19 pandemic and return for a fifth season.

Delavallade set a single season scoring record for the Nittany Lions last season finishing the year with a 72.60 stroke average over 35 rounds of competition. The Royan, France native was also selected as an individual to compete in the NCAA Athens Regional. Delavallade used a Penn State 18-hole scoring record of 7-under, 64, to finish runner-up at the 2022 Cougar Classic and had five top-10 finishes throughout the year.
