Nittany Lions Open Dual Meet Season Sunday at SHU’s Traditions Tournament

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's and women's fencing teams will travel to Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. for the first NCAA dual meet of the 2023-24 season. Action will begin at 10 a.m. 
 
Penn State will fence Princeton's men's team on strips 5-10 starting at 10 a.m. They'll be on strips 11-15 to face NJIT at 11 a.m. and NYU on the same strips at 12 p.m. Lunch will take place from 1 – 1:45 p.m. and then Penn State will face Vassar on strips 1-5 at 3 p.m. and Sacred Heart on strips 5-10 beginning at 4 p.m. 
 
Arwen Borowiak, Tit Nam Cheng, Spencer Burke and Aidan Johnson will compete in men's foil with Samantha Catantan, Thea Fernandez, Arianna Proietti, Claire Haas, Ariel Ratsep and Eden De La Cruz in women's foil. 
 
Men's epee will feature Tingwei Xu, Nicholas Glaz, Devin Tafoya, Peter Kambeseles, Mitchel Bekker and Sultan Hassan. Kateryna Chorniy, Axelle Wasiak and Jaclyn Khrol will fence women's epee. 
 
Penn State's sabre squad will consist of Neil Lilov, Nico Pope, Kamar Skeete, Jeffrey Basalyga and Nicholaus Zielinksi for the men and Aurora Colter, Mia Novick, Ola Strzalkowski and Amelia Baker for the women.
