UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State men's soccer, Big Ten Regular Season Co-Champions, will take on sixth seeded Ohio State on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at Jeffrey Field. This will be the Nittany Lions' sixth time hosting a semifinal game in the conference postseason tournament. 
 
After earning a share of the regular season title with a 1-1 draw at Wisconsin on Sunday, Oct. 29, Penn State (10-3-4, 4-2-2 Big Ten), acquired a victory in a 3-1 match against Rutgers in the Quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 3.
 
Penn State dominated the postseason Big Ten awards with Peter Mangione earning Offensive Player of the Year, Femi Awodesu winning Defensive Player of the Year, Kris Shakes being named the Goalkeeper of the Year and Jeff Cook earning Coach of the Year. The trio of Nittany Lions were also selected to first team All-Big Ten and Caden Grabfelder earned a spot on the All-Freshman team.

  • Mohamed Cisset scored his first collegiate goal, marking the first of the game. His goal came off a corner kick using his head.

  • Van Danielson scored his second consecutive goal in massive matches for the Nittany Lions.

  • Penn State ranks first in the Big Ten in goals scored with 32, five more than the next highest number. It also ranks first in points with 90.
  • Peter Mangione's ten goals is the most scored in the conference and sixth highest scored nationally.
  • Kris Shakes ranks eighth in the nation in save percentage (.814) and first in the conference. Shakes' seven shutouts are good for first in the conference and 10th in the nation.

SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES

  • The Buckeyes are in search of breaking a .500 record with it standing currently at 6-6-5 overall, 3-4-1 Big Ten. 
  • Ohio State earned a 1-0 win over Michigan State in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament on Friday night. The Buckeyes handed the Spartans their first conference loss and only second overall loss of the year. 
  • Lawrence Wooten was named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Year for the second straight year. Wooten leads the team along with Luciana Pechota with four goals.
  • Michael Adedokun and Pechota were named to second team All-Big Ten and Andre Roberts was selected to the All-Freshman team. 

PENN STATE –OHIO STATE SERIES

  • Penn State leads the all-time series 23-15-5, winning the most recent match up in 2023, 3-0 in Columbus. 
  • The Nittany lions are 14-3-3 in home games against the Buckeyes.

Parking for all Penn State Athletics' non-football events will require a valid permit or payment of the applicable parking fee for campus lots. Fans with valid Penn State University Park parking permits will be permitted to park at non-football athletics events for free, following Transportation Services parking policies and access.

Spectators can park in Stadium West parking lot for Penn State men's soccer games. Visitors can prepay for parking at a rate of $5.50/game through ParkMobile. The day-of-event rate will be $10/game. Prepayment is required by 11:59pm the night before the event to receive a discounted rate ($5.50/game).
