Men’s Basketball Inks Highly-Touted Three-Member Class on National Signing Day

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Peter and Ann Tombros Endowed Men's Basketball Head Coach Mike Rhoades has signed a top-40 recruiting class as three highly-touted signees inked their National Letters of Intent on National Signing Day Wednesday.
 
Penn State's three-member class ranks 31st in the nation according to Rivals and 37th in the nation according to 247 Sports.  The three-member class is comprised of Jahvin Carter (Alcoa, Tenn.), Miles Goodman (Seattle, Wash.) and Dominick Stewart (Ocean Springs, Miss.). The three new Nittany Lions, who will join the program as the Class of 2028, bring accomplished athletic and academic pedigrees to Penn State.

Jahvin Carter
6-3 Guard | Alcoa, Tenn. | Alcoa High School | BMaze Elite UAA

  • Three-star guard who ranks as the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee per 247Sports. 
  • 2,000-point scorer that led Alcoa High School to its first state championship in 56 years in 2023. Was named tournament MVP of state championship and scored the game-winning layup with two seconds to play in championship game.
  • Alcoa High School's all-time leading scorer with 2,102 career points through three seasons. Also holds school record for points scored in a single game with 62 points.
  • Owns high school career marks of 2,102 points, 466 rebounds, 360 assists and 168 steals through three seasons.
  • Three-time all-district selection, and two-time All-State pick, two-time Daily Times Player of the Year. Tennessee Mr. Basketball finalist.
  • Named team captain and team MVP as a freshman, sophomore and junior.
  • Played AAU on the Under Armour circuit for BMaze Elite.

 
Personal: Son of Jacob and Claire Carter...Has one older brother, Mekhi.

Miles Goodman
6-11 Forward – Seattle, Wash. – Southern California Academy – Rotary Style/NW Rotary Rebels

  • Four-star forward that is the No. 78 recruit nationally per Rivals and the No. 120 recruit in the country per 247 Sports. Ranked as the No. 20 center in the class and No. 15 player in the state of California per 247 Sports.
  • The second-highest ranked recruit in program history behind Tony Carr per 247 Sports rankings.
  • Plays at Southern California Academy where he is teammates with fellow Nittany Lion signee Dominick Stewart.
  • SoCal Academy is the 17th-ranked team in the nation in the preseason high school rankings. Has averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per game through SoCal Academy's preseason games thus far this season.
  • 2023 Pangos All-American Camp participant.
  • Has averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals per game throughout his high school and AAU careers.
  • Named team MVP of his 16u and 17u Nike EYBL teams.

 
Personal: Son of Tim Goodman and Juanita Jones...Has one older brother, Dawson, and two older sisters, Jordan and Genesis...Father, Tim, is a former professional basketball player who played collegiately at Charlotte and South Alabama.

Dominick Stewart
6-5 Guard | Ocean Springs, Miss. | Southern California Academy | Team Durant EYBL

  • Three-star guard that ranks as the No. 35 combo guard in the 2024 class and No. 23 player in the state of California per 247 Sports.
  • Plays at Southern California Academy where he is teammates with fellow Nittany Lion signee Miles Goodman.
  • SoCal Academy is the 17th-ranked team in the nation in the preseason high school rankings. Has averaged 12 points per game while shooting 40.6 percent from 3-point range through SoCal Academy's preseason games thus far this season.
  • Earned All-Breakout team honors at Peach Jam in 2023.
  • Averaged 13 points per game in prep league during junior season.
  • Played for Team Durant EYBL on the Nike AAU circuit.
