Women’s Tennis Releases Spring 2024 Schedule

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women's tennis team and head coach Alexandra McIntyre announced the Nittany Lions' 2024 spring schedule, which includes 10 home matches and five matches against 2023 NCAA Tournament teams.
 
"2024 is going to be a season with many firsts and opportunities," McIntyre said. "We have worked hard this fall on specific things to help elevate our game to compete with the best. There will definitely be challenges ahead, but with having such an experienced team, hopefully they will be ready and prevail against the odds." 
 
The Blue and White will play a schedule consisting of 11 Big Ten matches and 11 non-conference contests.
 
Penn State kicks off its schedule on the road on Saturday, Jan. 20 facing off against Kentucky. 
 
The Nittany Lions will continue their away stint the following weekend against Columbia, on Saturday, Jan. 27, and Penn, on Sunday, Jan. 28.
 
McIntyre's squad will host its first home match of the season against Saint Francis on Friday, Feb. 2 before traveling to Old Dominion on Sunday, Feb. 4. Old Dominion was the 2023 Sun Belt Champion and made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
 
The Blue and White returns home for three matches. The team will compete against Delaware, on Saturday, Feb. 17, Yale, on Saturday, Feb. 18, and Princeton, on Sunday, March 3. Princeton won Ivy League in 2023 and appeared in the NCAA Tournament.
 
Penn State will be on the road for three-straight non-conference matches. During their stint away from Happy Valley, the team will play at Long Beach State, on Wednesday, March 6, Loyola Marymount, on Friday, March 8, and UCSB, on Saturday, March 9.
 
The Nittany Lions open Big Ten play at home against Michigan State on Friday, March 15. The same weekend, the team will travel to Ann Arbor to play against the 2023 Big Ten Regular Season and Tournament Champions, Michigan, on Sunday, March 17. 
 
The Blue and White take on Purdue and Indiana in road match ups on March 23 and 24, respectively. 
 
Penn State will return home for three-straight matches. The team will compete against Rutgers on Friday, March 29, against Maryland on Sunday, March 31, and against Ohio State on Wednesday, April 3. Ohio State made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. 
 
Continuing conference action, the Nittany Lions will play at Nebraska, on Friday, April 12, and at Iowa, on Sunday, April 14.
 
The Blue and White battle Illinois, who made an NCAA Tournament appearance, at home on Friday, April 19 at home. 
 
To finish off the regular season, Penn State will see action against Northwestern in Happy Valley on Sunday, April 21 for Senior Day.
 
The Big Ten Tournament will be hosted by Michigan from April 24-28.
 
The NCAA Tournament first and second rounds, held at regional sites, begin on May 4-5, followed by super regionals on May 10-11. The NCAA Championships are set for May 16-25 in Stillwater, Okla.
