Nittany Lions No. 6 in 2024 CGA Preseason Poll

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Penn State men's gymnastics team was ranked No. 6 in the College Gymnastics Association Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Friday. 
 
Stanford was picked to repeat as the national champions, coming in at No. 1 for the second straight season with 11 first place votes, while 2023 Big Ten Champion Michigan was picked to finish second with one first place vote. Illinois rounds out the top-three with 145 points, while Oklahoma and Nebraska finish fourth and fifth, respectively. 
 
The Nittany Lions finished the 2023 season with a 4-2 record and placed second at the Big Ten Championships. The 2024 team will feature 13 returners and four freshmen. Among those returners are All-Americans Matt Cormier, Josh Karnes, Michael Jaroh and Matt Underhill
 
The Nittany Lions will open their 2024 campaign against No. 11-ranked Army on Jan. 5 at Rec Hall.
