Men's Hockey Set to Host Second Annual Penn State Sled Hockey Classic on Saturday, February 3

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Following a successful inaugural event last February that raised north of $20,000, junior Dylan Lugris (Buffalo, N.Y.) and the rest of the Penn State men's ice hockey team will once again scrimmage the State College Coyotes sled hockey team in the second annual Penn State Sled Hockey Classic on Saturday, February 3.

The charity event is completely player driven by Lugris and his teammates from the planning and organization through the execution of the event. This year's Penn State Sled Hockey Classic will get underway at 9:45 a.m. on February 3 inside Pegula Ice Arena.

Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. and the game is free to the public with seating available in the Roar Zone. Donations are encouraged and can be made to the Coyotes GoFundMe Page.
Parking is available in the Shields and Stadium West lots to be paid on Park Mobile or the pay stations within the lots upon arrival.

The teams will take the ice at approximately 9:30 a.m. for warm-ups prior to a 25-minute exhibition beginning at roughly 9:45 a.m. Following the conclusion of the game the teams will pose for a group photo on the ice prior to a post-game open skate where all fans in attendance are invited to join the two teams on the ice. Free skate rentals will be available for those fans who didn't bring their own.

"The Coyotes are an inspiration to our program and are a great group of people who share our love of the sport of hockey," mentioned Lugris. "Last year's event was such a success and brought great awareness to the sport of sled hockey that we realized it's a great way to grow the game and could become an annual event moving forward. We hope that this year, and into the future, we can surpass the attendance and the money raised."
