Rosemont, Ill. – Penn State men's gymnast Josh Karnes was named a Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the second time this season after being named to the Men's Senior National Team over the weekend at the Winter Cup.
The junior placed ninth in the all-around with a combined day one and day two score of 160.500.
The Erie, Pa. native took the silver medal on floor with an overall score of 28.650.
Karnes finished eighth on pommel (26.800) and 11th on rings (27.150).
As a member of the Men's Senior National Team, Karnes has qualified for the U.S. Gymnastics Championships which will be held June 22-26 in Minneapolis, Minn.
Penn State men's gymnastics will return to Rec Hall this Saturday, March 2 at 4 p.m. against Springfield.
