UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State women's gymnastics' Kalea McElligott was recognized as the Big Ten Women's Gymnastics Co-Freshman of the Week for her excellent outing in the Nittany Lions' final regular season meet this past weekend, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
McElligott earns a share of this week's Big Ten newcomer award thanks to her 39.350 all-around outing at George Washington in the Nittany Lions' final regular season meet. McElligott tied her career high with a 9.9 on vault and added a 9.85 on beam and a 9.825 on floor, helping Penn State achieve its fourth-highest road score in team history in its quad meet sweep.
The Penn State all-arounder collects her third Big Ten weekly accolade, earning the Nittany Lions' third Big Ten weekly award of the season.

Penn State will travel to Michigan State for this year's Big Ten Championships on Saturday, March 22. The Nittany Lions will compete in Session I at noon ET and the meet will air live on the Big Ten Network.
