Women's Hockey Completes Captains Circle Naming Three Alternate Captains

Penn State women's ice hockey head coach Jeff Kampersal announced the team's 2024-25 alternate captains on Friday. Lyndie Lobdell, Brianna Brooks, and Mya Vaslet will serve as the team's alternate captains.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's ice hockey head coach Jeff Kampersal announced the team's 2024-25 alternate captains on Friday. Lyndie Lobdell, Brianna Brooks, and Mya Vaslet will serve as the team's alternate captains.

Lobdell entering her fifth season at Penn State, has been a member of the past two CHA Tournament title victories and NCAA tournament appearances. In 2023-24, she played in all 38 games recording a career-high nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points. She also accumulated three College Hockey America Defensive Player of the Week honors. In her entire career to date, Lobdell has accumulated 63 points off 16 goals and 47 assists.

Brooks begins her second season at Penn State after a 2023-24 season that consisted of 14 goals and 18 assists with six power-play goals. She also recorded 324 faceoff wins in the faceoff dot. She captured CHA Forward of the Week honors twice and was named to the All-CHA Second Team. The Whitby, Ontario native also registered nine multi-point games.

Vaslet returns to Penn State for her senior season after posting 16 goals and 10 assists in the 2023-24 season. She was named CHA Forward of the Week once and registered 249 faceoff wins. Throughout last season, she tallied five multi-point games including her first career hat-trick against Lindenwood. In her career, Vaslet has tallied 24 goals and 21 assists while winning 599 faceoffs.

Penn State begins the 2024-25 campaign on Thursday, September 26 when they play host to Northeastern at Pegula Ice Arena.
