The specialist scored a 15.300 in the event final behind Kazakhstan’s Nariman Kurbanov and Ireland’s Rhys McClenaghan who won the event with a 15.533.
“I couldn’t be more proud of Stephen and his Olympic effort,” said head coach Randy Jepson. “To clinch a bronze medal in the individual finals to go along with his team bronze is simply outstanding. Today, all of America, especially Nittany Nation and Penn State men’s gymnastics celebrate his success.”
During the team finals, Nedoroscik earned a 14.866 on pommel horse to help Team USA clinch a bronze medal and their first podium finish in 16 years.
The Worcester, Mass. native is the first gymnast from Team USA to produce a podium finish in pommel horse since Alexander Naddour in the 2016 Rio Games who also earned a bronze medal.
Nedoroscik joins fellow Penn Staters Joe Kovacs (Track & Field), Kayla Cannett (Rugby) and Renate Knapik-Miazga (Fencing) in earning Olympic medals this summer.
