UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State women’s tennis will send Olivia Dorner and Maiko Uchijima to Cary, North Carolina for the ITA All-American Championships spanning from Saturday, Sept. 21 to Sunday, Sept. 29.
Dorner and Uchijima, ranked No. 49 in the preseason ITA doubles rankings, begin qualifying play on Monday, Sept. 23. The duo won all three of their doubles matches at the UNC Kitty Harrison Invitational. Dorner is an alternate for the prequalifying draw of singles play, beginning Saturday.
Outside the tandem of Dorner and Uchijima, the squad is coming off a productive weekend at the UNC Kitty Harrison Invitational. Patricia Grigoras earned her first two singles victories of her freshman campaign. Uchijima collected two singles wins, while Jordina Cegarra won one as well. The doubles pair of Yvonne Zuffova and Grigoras took home a victory to round out the tournament.
