Penn State Fencing Heads to Philadelphia for the Penn Invitational

 

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; – The Penn State Nittany Lion men’s and women’s fencing teams, under the guidance of Matteo Zennaro, will continue their 2024-25 seasons at the Penn Invitational in Philadelphia. Both the men and women will compete on Saturday, Nov. 16. 

Competing for the Nittany Lion women will be Eden De La Cruz, Thea Fernandes, Ariel Ratsep, Arianna ProiettiSamantha Catantan, Mikaela Yhip, in foil; Kateryna Chorniy, Clarisse Tan, Claire Haas, in epee; Ola Strzalkowski, Eve ScottEunyu Kim, Aurora Colter, Catherine Kim, Mia Novick in saber. 

The Nittany Lion men will send Caiden Cannon, Jun Ahn, Michael DeSando, Dusan Zeljkovic, Arwen Borowiak in foil; Sultan Hassan, Zachary Suico, Vasil Ivakimov, Mitchel Bekker, Mohamed Yasseen, Tingwei Xu in epee; Kamar Skeete, Neil Lilov, and Nicholaus Zielinski in saber. 

Following this weekend’s action, Penn State fencers will take part in the NAC event in Atlanta, Ga., on Friday through Sunday, Dec. 6-8.
