COLUMBUS, Ohio – Penn State men's gymnast Josh Karnes took home the parallel bars bronze medal at the 2024 NCAA Championships Saturday evening at the Covelli Center.
Karnes scored a 14.666 on the event. The Erie, Pa. native also placed fifth in the all-around with a season high score of 83.664. His performance earned him All-American honors in both events.
This is the second consecutive season that Karnes has earned All-American honors on parallel bars and the all-around.
The junior took third in the all-around at the Big Ten Championships just two weeks ago.
Luke Esparo impressed in his first NCAA finals, placing ninth on rings with a 13.900 to collect All-American honors in the event.
Michael Artlip also competed in the all-around for the Nittany Lions, wrapping up his consistent senior season with a score of 79.764 to place 11th.
Also competing in the finals for Penn State were Kacper Garnczarek, Michael Jaroh, Landon Simpson and Matt Underhill.
