UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.;– The Penn State Nittany Lion men’s and women’s fencing teams, under the guidance of Matteo Zennaro, will continue their 2024-25 seasons at the Philadelphia Invitational. Select fencers will be competing on either Saturday, Jan. 18 or Sunday Jan. 19.
Competing for the Nittany Lion women will be Eden De La Cruz, Thea Fernandes, Ariel Ratsep, Arianna Proietti, in foil; Kateryna Chorniy, Clarisse Tan, Claire Haas, Allegra Cristofoletto, in epee; Ola Strzalkowski, Eve Scott, Eunyu Kim, Aurora Colter, Catherine Kim, Amelia Baker in saber.
The Nittany Lion men will send Caiden Cannon, Jun Ahn, Michael DeSando, Dusan Zeljkovic, Arwen Borowiak, Spencer Burke, Tit Nam Cheng, Michael DeSando, Yaroslav Muruhin in foil; Sultan Hassan, Zachary Suico, Vasil Ivakimov, Mitchel Bekker, Mohamed Yasseen, Tingwei Xu, Mitchel Bekker, Mohamed Yasseen, Joshua Yavorovskiy in epee; Kamar Skeete, Neil Lilov, and Nicholaus Zielinski, Carlos Fernando Chacon in saber.
Following this weekend’s action, Penn State Fencing hosts Penn, Temple, North Carolina, Columbia, Harvard, Duke and Yale at the Multi-Sport Facility with action beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
