SCOUTING YALE
- Yale is 0-2 to start the 2025 campaign, with losses to Villanova and Army.
- After a close 13-11 loss to Villanova, Yale was shutdown by the Army defense, only putting up three goals to Army’s 14.
- Last season, the Bulldogs finished 11-4 overall. They finished their season with a loss to Princeton in the Ivy League Tournament.
- Four Yale freshman were named to Inside Lacrosse’s Power 100 Freshmen rankings: Ben Friedman, Connor Gately, Wade Jahnke and Matthew Surin.
- Three Bulldogs were tabbed to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List ahead of the season: Leo Johnson, Chris Lyons and Brad Sharp.
- Johnson and Lyons along with Max Krevsky, Machado Rodriguez, Jake Stuzin and Patrick Pisano were named USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-Americans. The same crew also garnered Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American recognition.
LAST TIME VS. YALE
- Penn State rallied from a seven goal deficit at halftime to defeat Yale 15-14 in overtime last season on March 2, 2024.
- TJ Malone tallied a career high nine points on five goals and four assists in PSU's comeback victory.
- Mac Costin, Matt Traynor and Ethan Long also had multi-goal games.
- Jack Fracyon earned the win between the pipes, securing 17 saves.
- The Nittany Lions forced 16 turnovers on the Bulldogs.
LAST TIME OUT
- Penn State downed the Midshipmen 13-7 on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Panzer Stadium.
- Luke Walstrum notched a career best five points on two goals and three assists.

- Matt Traynor is fifth in the country in goals per game (4.0) and leads the conference in that category. He also sits at the top of the conference in points per game (5.5), ranking eighth nationally.
- Kevin Parnham and Alex Ross rank seventh across the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.5) which leads the Big Ten.
- Jack AImone is seventh in the country in man-up goals (3), another conference leading number.
- As a team, PSU is second in the country in CTOs per game (12.25), good for first in the Big Ten.
- The Nittany Lions also have the ninth-best man-up offense nationally and second in the B1G.
B1G HONORS
- Jack Fracyon was named the Big Ten Specialist of the Week following a strong performance against Villanova. He tallied 10 saves on 15 shot attempts. He also allowed just five goals, the third lowest number of goals allowed in his career.
- Hunter Aquino earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week after his first career hat-trick and two assists to total five points against no. 8 Princeton.
