UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Women’s Gymnastics remains ranked at No. 25 entering the Big 4 Meet in Iowa City on Sunday, March 2, as they will compete against Iowa, Washington and No. 7 Michigan State.
Penn State enters Big 4 competition with a 4-2 conference record in dual meets this season entering its final Big Ten contest of the regular season.

LAST TIME OUT
The Nittany Lions upset No. 22 Ohio State on Senior Day to record their first regular season win against the Buckeyes since 2019, winning 196.525-196.300, registering a season-best team score
Maddie Johnston won the Ann Carr award after her performance on vault, uneven bars and beam. Elizabeth Leary completed her sixth all-around of the season with a 39.100.
VAULT – No. 32
The Nittany Lions performed their strongest vault rotation of the season to open the meet. Each gymnast’s routine scored a 9.8 or higher to record a season-high team total of 49.225. Johnston rounded out the first rotation of the night by tying her career-high of 9.9.
BARS – No. 26
Penn State earned its second score of 49.225 on its second rotation of the night, led by Dani Latronica with a career-high score of 9.9. A pair of 9.875s from Gabbie Gallentine and Cassie Barbanente helped the Nittany Lions achieve a fantastic team score on bars.
BEAM – No. 20
A team score of 49.175 on the third rotation of the night pushed the Nittany Lions within the top-20 on beam and helped them remain in control against the Buckeyes. Isabella Salcedo and Johnston recorded season-highs on beam with a 9.85 and 9.875, respectively.
FLOOR – No. 37
On its last rotation of the night, Penn State recorded a 48.900 on floor. Ashley Maul started off with her routine and scored a 9.725. Kalea McElligott finished the night off with a 9.825, which ultimately pushed the Nittany Lions to an upset over the Buckeyes.
