Byers took down the No. 10 ranked player from Ohio State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State men's tennis senior Loren Byers has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week for his outstanding performance this past weekend against Ohio State.

Byers put on an impressive and entertaining performance against No. 10 ranked Aidan Kim of Ohio State. Byers played a back-and-forth battle, ultimately clinching the match, 7-5, 6-4.

Unranked, Byers has proven successful this season, leading the Nittany Lions at the first singles spot. Byers clinched his 83rd career win as well, a remarkable milestone. He is 9-4 at the top spot this Spring.

His strong leadership and respect towards his teammates, coaches and opponents has also put Loren above as a great player on and off the court.
