Penn State Swim and Dive Closes Out 2025 Big Ten Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Penn State men’s swim and dive team finished out the 2025 Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday evening. Throughout the competition, the team captured 34 NCAA B-Cuts, set multiple school records, and finished in ninth place.

Preliminaries:

  • Sean Honey kicked off the morning with a new PR and first place finish in his heat in the 200 Back with a time of 1:44.49.
  • Senior Jack Harvey qualified for the B-Finals of the 200 Back, swimming a new personal best of 1:42.48.
  • Cooper Morley will join him in the 200 Back B-Finals, swimming a speedy 1:43.41 in preliminaries
  • Sophomore Toni Slavica also broke his PR in the 100 Free, swimming a quick 43.61 to finish first in his heat.
  • Alex Karahalis continued his dominant weekend, breaking his PR in the 200 Fly to touch fourth in his heat with a time of 1:43.47.

Finals:

  • Jack Harvey tallied a new personal record in the 200 Back again during finals, finishing in first place of the B-Finals with a time of 1:42.40.
  • Sophomore Alex Karahalis recorded another quick time in the 200 Fly, taking third place in the B-Finals with a time of 1:43.64.
  • Eduardo Cisternas (15:15.08) and Jack Clancy (15:20.01) both competed in the 1650 Free, earning NCAA B-Cut recognition.
  • The 400 Free Relay team consisting of Tylor Kim, Victor Baganha, Toni Slavica, and Jack Harvey closed out the Championship, swimming a fast 2:50.77 good for sixth place and NCAA B-Cut honors.

Up Next:

The Nittany Lions look to compete in the NCAA Championships from March 19 through March 22 in Federal Way, Washington. NCAA Diving Zones will be held from March 10 through March 12 at Rutgers University.
