Baseball Welcomes Pitt, Bucknell For Midweek Contests

Nittany Lions meet Panthers on Tuesday, Bison on Wednesday, both at 5:30 p.m.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State baseball team hosts Pitt and Bucknell for midweek matchups at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Both games are set for 5:30 p.m. first pitches and will be broadcast on B1G+.

 

Tuesday is Dollar Dog Night, featuring $1 hot dogs.

 

Tuesday will also include a first pitch by the Penn State Women’s Volleyball National Championship team.

 

Wednesday is PA Day as fans are encouraged to wear jerseys and gear representing their favorite Pennsylvania professional teams.

 

All home games are free admission for all ages.

 

Penn State, led by head coach Mike Gambino, is 16-7 this season after a win on Saturday against Michigan State.

 

Pitt, coached by Mike Bell, is 14-9 this year after a victory over NC State on Sunday.

DOLLAR DOG NIGHT

  • The Nittany Lions are set to host their third Dollar Dog Night of the 2025 season, featuring $1 hot dogs.
  • Penn State’s first Dollar Dog Night of the season, against FDU on March 4, featured 4,049 fans and 5,960 hot dogs consumed.
  • PSU’s second Dollar Dog Night this year included 3,784 fans consuming 7,506 hot dogs on March 18 against St. Bonaventure
  • Penn State’s Dollar Dog Nights became popular in 2023 and returned with strong numbers in 2024.
  • Across 11 Dollar Dog Nights in 2023, 2024 and 2025, Penn State fans have consumed 48,643 hot dogs, averaging 4,422 per Dollar Dog Night.
  • On April 16, 2024 against Kent State, The Nittany Lions set a new attendance record (5,025), topping 5,000 fans for the first time in program history. PSU fans consumed a Dollar Dog record 8,591 hot dogs.

 

DOLLAR DOG NIGHT PRE-ORDER

  • Leap the lines on Dollar Dog Night! Dollar Dog packages are now available for pre-order up until noon on the day of the game, through https://statecollegespikes.ordernext.com/
  • Fans can click the Dollar Dog icon at the top and select the upcoming Dollar Dog Night game from the “select your event” drop-down menu to pre-purchase their Dollar Dog 4-Pack or Dollar Dog 9-Inning Challenge Pack. All packages can be picked up at the right field concessions stand counter on Dollar Dog Night.
  • All Dollar Dog package purchases made are final unless the game is canceled or postponed, in which case refunds will be issued for packages not already picked up. No refunds will be issued for packages including beer that are unable to be picked up due to failure to produce proper identification.

 

PA DAY

  • Celebrating Pennsylvania Pride with an in-state matchup against Bucknell.
  • Fans are encouraged to wear jerseys and gear from their favorite Pennsylvania professional teams.

 

PARKING

  • Fan parking is available in Porter North and Jordan East lots.
  • Prepaid parking is available until midnight the day before the game for $5.50 at psu.parkmobile.io
  • Day of game parking is available through Honk for $10, please see the in-lot signage for the QR code and text-to-pay options.

 

SUITE TICKETS

  • Fans can enjoy the action from climate-controlled Luxury Suites at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
  • These 20-person suites offer a fantastic view of Mount Nittany while providing a luxurious experience for fans and their guests.
  • Luxury Suites are available for $400 per game, with a limited number of suites available for each game on a first-come, first-serve basis.

PSU’S STRONG START

  • With a 15-5 start, Penn State got off to its best 20-game start since going 16-4 to begin the 1979 season.
  • Penn State started Big Ten play with series victories in each of its first two series for the first time since 2014.
  • The Nittany Lions have tallied 10+ runs in 14 games this season, tied for third in the country (behind only LSU and VMI), and five times in nine Big Ten games. PSU has 14 games of 10+ runs in a season for the seventh time in program history (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2023, 2024).
  • With its win in game one against Indiana on March 7, the Nittany Lions had a nine-game win streak for the first time since 2000.

 

NITTANY LIONS AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS IN HOMERS, STEALS

  • Through 23 games, Penn State has slugged 40 home runs.
  • The Nittany Lions rank 16th in the country, and leads the Big Ten, averaging 1.74 homers per game.
  • Penn State also ranks 16th in the nation in total home runs and 35th in slugging percentage (.514).
  • Paxton Kling leads the Nittany Lions with nine homers, while sitting 22nd in the country in total homers (2nd in Big Ten) and 39th in home runs per game (0.39; 5th).
  • Kling is among nine Nittany Lions with at least one home run this season and is one of eight with multiple homers.
  • Jesse Jaconski owns seven homers and Jack Porter has five, while Joe Jaconski, Bryce Molinaro, Nate Voss and Ryan Weingartner each have four homers. Cole Wagner has two.
  • Penn State is the only Big Ten team with seven players with 4+ homers this season.
  • Penn State has launched five grand slams, including two by Kling, one by Jesse Jaconski, one by Molinaro and one by Voss.

PSU TAKES ONE AGAINST MSU

  • The Nittany Lions won the middle game of the series against Michigan State, earning an 11-5 win on Saturday.
  • Jesse Jaconski drove in six runs, while launching a solo homer and a grand slam.
  • Cohl Mercado and Nate Voss both tripled and scored a run.
  • Anthony Steele closed out the game with three scoreless innings and two strikeouts.
  • In the series, Paxton Kling went 5-of-12. Joe Jaconski had two doubles.
  • Matthew VanOstenbridge threw three innings over two appearances and did not allow an earned run.
