Baseball Hosts Bucknell For Dollar Dog Night

Nittany Lions meet Bison on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State baseball team hosts Bucknell for a midweek matchup at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. with a broadcast on B1G+.

Tuesday includes Military Appreciation Night, celebrating current members and veterans of all military branches.

 

Tuesday is also Dollar Dog Night, featuring $1 hot dogs. PSU fans have consumed 20,199 hot dogs over three Dollar Dog Nights this season.

 

All home games are free admission for all ages.

 

Penn State, led by head coach Mike Gambino, is 17-10 this season after taking one of three games at Michigan this past weekend.

 

Bucknell, coached by Scott Heather, is 11-15 on the year after winning two games against Holy Cross and falling in two games against Army last weekend.

DOLLAR DOG NIGHT

  • The Nittany Lions are set to host their fourth Dollar Dog Night of the 2025 season, featuring $1 hot dogs.
  • Penn State’s first Dollar Dog Night of the season, against FDU on March 4, featured 4,049 fans and 5,960 hot dogs consumed.
  • PSU’s second Dollar Dog Night this year included 3,784 fans consuming 7,506 hot dogs on March 18 against St. Bonaventure
  • PSU’s third Dollar Dog Night saw 2,822 fans eat 6,733 hot dogs on March 25 against Pitt.
  • Penn State’s Dollar Dog Nights became popular in 2023 and returned with strong numbers in 2024.
  • Across 12 Dollar Dog Nights in 2023, 2024 and 2025, Penn State fans have consumed 55,376 hot dogs, averaging 4,615 per Dollar Dog Night.
  • On April 16, 2024 against Kent State, The Nittany Lions set a new attendance record (5,025), topping 5,000 fans for the first time in program history. PSU fans consumed a Dollar Dog record 8,591 hot dogs.

 

DOLLAR DOG NIGHT PRE-ORDER

  • Leap the lines on Dollar Dog Night! Dollar Dog packages are now available for pre-order up until noon on the day of the game, through https://statecollegespikes.ordernext.com/
  • Fans can click the Dollar Dog icon at the top and select the upcoming Dollar Dog Night game from the “select your event” drop-down menu to pre-purchase their Dollar Dog 4-Pack or Dollar Dog 9-Inning Challenge Pack. All packages can be picked up at the right field concessions stand counter on Dollar Dog Night.
  • All Dollar Dog package purchases made are final unless the game is canceled or postponed, in which case refunds will be issued for packages not already picked up. No refunds will be issued for packages including beer that are unable to be picked up due to failure to produce proper identification.

  • Fan parking is available in Porter North and Jordan East lots.
  • Prepaid parking is available until midnight the day before the game for $5.50 at psu.parkmobile.io
  • Day of game parking is available through Honk for $10, please see the in-lot signage for the QR code and text-to-pay options.

 

SUITE TICKETS

  • Fans can enjoy the action from climate-controlled Luxury Suites at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
  • These 20-person suites offer a fantastic view of Mount Nittany while providing a luxurious experience for fans and their guests.
  • Luxury Suites are available for $400 per game, with a limited number of suites available for each game on a first-come, first-serve basis.

PSU’S STRONG START

  • With a 15-5 start, Penn State got off to its best 20-game start since going 16-4 to begin the 1979 season.
  • Penn State started Big Ten play with series victories in each of its first two series for the first time since 2014.
  • The Nittany Lions have tallied 10+ runs in 15 games this season, tied for fourth in the country (behind only High Point, LSU and VMI), and six times in Big Ten games. PSU has 15 games of 10+ runs in a season for the sixth time in program history (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2024, 2025).
  • With its win in game one against Indiana on March 7, the Nittany Lions had a nine-game win streak for the first time since 2000.

  • Through 27 games, Penn State has slugged 44 home runs.
  • The Nittany Lions rank 27th in the country, averaging 1.63 homers per game.
  • Penn State also ranks 27th in the nation in total home runs and 35th in runs per game (8.9).
  • Paxton Kling leads the Nittany Lions with 10 homers, while sitting 31st in the country in total homers (7th in Big Ten) and 47th in home runs per game (0.37; 8th).
  • Kling is among nine Nittany Lions with at least one home run this season and is one of eight with multiple homers.

MICHIGAN SERIES RECAP

  • Penn State earned a 12-5 win on Friday at Michigan, but dropped a pair of one-run games on Saturday (8-7) and Sunday (6-5).
  • On Friday, Bryce Molinaro, Cole Wagner and Ryan Weingartner all homered to help the Nittany Lions.
  • Wagner had three hits, including a double, and scored three times, while Weingartner added a two-run double.
  • In the series, Wagner went 6-of-12 (.500) at the plate with two doubles, a triple and a homer to go with five RBI and four runs.
  • Jack Porter added four hits, including two doubles, and four RBI.
  • On the mound, Dimond Loosli threw 3.2 shutout frames over two appearances.
  • Anthony Steele fired three scoreless innings and struck out five on Saturday.
