Aiden Fink Named CCM/AHCA Second-Team All-American

Fink becomes just the third Nittany Lion to earn All-American status joining Cole Hults and Nate Sucese

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Sophomore Aiden Fink (Calgary, Alberta) was named a CCM/AHCA Second-Team All-American as announced on NHL Network on Friday evening becoming just the third Nittany Lion to earn All-American status.

Fink joins Cole Hults and Nate Sucese who were each honored as second-team west All-Americans following the 2019-20 season.

The accolades continue to roll in for the sophomore who just last month became the first ever Nittany Lion to be named a Hobey Baker Award Top-10 Finalist while becoming just the seventh to earn First-Team All-Conference recognition at Penn State and the first since 2020. Fink was the only unanimous All-Conference selection marking the first the Nittany Lions have ever had.

"Aiden is an extremely hard-worker and he takes so much pride in managing the puck, he is safest offensive player I have ever coached. On top of being a gifted goal scorer and playmaker, he does so many effort-based things that set him apart from any other scorer I've seen."

Fink’s 53 points this season are a new Penn State single-season record and are tops in the Big Ten and good for fourth nationally while his 1.33 points per game are second in the Big Ten and fourth in the nation while also setting a new single-season program standard. Fink’s 30 assists also rank atop the Big Ten and are tied for seventh nationally while his 23 goals are third in the conference and tied for ninth in the nation. His assist total is the most in a single-season in Penn State history with his 23 goals tying for the top spot.

The sophomore’s eight powerplay tallies and two shorthanded scores both rank in the top-10 nationally with his man-advantage total tying his own PSU single-season record set last year. Fink paced Penn State with 15 multi-point efforts this season.

The Calgary, Alberta native is just the third Nittany Lion all time to reach 40 points and 20 goals in the same season joining Casey Bailey (22-18-40 in 2014-15) and Alex Limoges (23-27-50 in 2018-19) while he is also the only Nittany Lion to begin his career with back-to-back 30+-point seasons and becomes just the seventh all-time to have multiple such seasons following his 34-point freshman campaign.

Fink’s 16 career powerplay tallies are already a Nittany Lion record and he is the only player to record multiple hat-tricks in a career following his three-goal outing against Canisius back in January. He has 87 points (38 goals and 49 assists) in 74 career games for a 1.18 point per game average which is also a current Penn State standard while he sits just outside the top-10 all-time for points and goals.

The sophomore tied a trio of single-game records for the Nittany Lions this season registering three assists and four points in the second period during a 5-0 victory over Alaska on October 6 and just last month collected four assists in a 6-5 overtime win at Michigan on March 7.
