UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State track and field freshman Ajani Dwyer has been named both the Big Ten Men’s Track Athlete of the Week and the Big Ten Men’s Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon.
Dwyer ran the fastest 100-meter race in Penn State history under all conditions Friday at the Virginia Challenge, finishing first with a time of 10.05.
The freshman sprinter’s time is tied for sixth in the NCAA east region and tied for fourth in the Big Ten so far this outdoor season.
Penn State’s outdoor season continues at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia Thursday through Saturday at historic Franklin Field.
