Women’s Gymnastics Concludes NCAA Championships at Rec Hall

Lions close season with a score of 196.225

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women’s gymnastics team closed out the 2024-25 season in the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Regionals in Rec Hall.

The squad totaled 196.225 points, their fourth-highest score this season. Freshman Elizabeth Leary had successful day, tying her career best in three events and setting a new career high in the all-around at 39.375.

ROTATION RECAP

Penn State started the afternoon on beam where the team posted a cumulative score of 49.150. On beam, five scored over a 9.8 including freshmen Dani Latronica and Elizabeth Leary who both earned a 9.85. Senior Isabella Salcedo and sophomore Kalea McElligott both tallied a 9.825 and sophomore Ashley Maul posted a 9.8.

The Nittany Lions took on floor next, tying their beam score of 49.150. The all-underclassmen crew was led by Kalea McElligott, who put up a high 9.875. Both Elizabeth Leary and Alyssa Kramer earned scores of 9.850, with freshman Bella Misiura behind them with a 9.8.

On vault, Penn State put up a total score of 48.950. Third time was the charm for Leary where she tied her third consecutive career best this afternoon with a team-high vault score of 9.85. Veteran Maddie Johnston was right behind her with a high 9.825, followed by freshman Allison Kaempfer who scored a 9.8.

The Nittany Lions’ NCAA finale was on the bars, where they posted a cumulative score of 48.975. The squad was led by a pair of 9.825’s from Leary and graduate student Gabbie Gallentine. Freshman Dani Latronica closed out her afternoon with a score of 9.8.
