EUGENE, Ore. – The Penn State men’s and women’s track and field teams completed day two of the Big Ten Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. with four Nittany Lions punching their tickets to event finals and three finishing in the top seven of their respective events Saturday.
FINALISTS
Isaac Osifo placed fifth in the men’s high jump after recording a 2.11m (6-11) jump.
Dylan Lambrecht recorded an 18.74m (61-5 ¾) throw in men’s shot put to collect a seventh-place finish.
Maddie Ullom ran 10:03.01 in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase to earn a sixth-place finish and move into the No. 5 spot all-time.
SCORING EVENTS
The men’s team wrapped up day two with six total points while the women increased their point total to 19.
Osifo collected four points after his fifth-place finish in the men’s high jump and Lambrecht added two points after a seventh-place finish in men’s shot put.
Maddie Pitts’ seventh-place finish in the heptathlon added two points and Ullom’s No. 5 all-time mark set in the 3,000-meter steeplechase added three points to the women’s total.
FINALS QUALIFIERS
Ajani Dwyer won the 100-meter preliminaries, clocking in at 10.16 to earn a spot in the finals.
Jake Palermo set a personal best time of 46.30 in the outdoor 400-meter race after placing fifth to qualify for the finals.
Handal Roban ran at a time of 1:47.14 in the men’s 800-meter race for a second-place finish while Allon Clay ran at a time of 1:47.81 for a fifth-place finish, both qualifying for the finals.
MULTI-EVENTS
Maddie Pitts and Madeleine Soderqvist completed all events in the heptathlon. Pitts placed seventh and compiled a total score of 5,677 after winning the 800-meter race and recording a sixth-place finish in the long jump. Soderqvist compiled a total score of 4,599.

The Penn State track and field teams will conclude the Big Ten Outdoor Championships with four additional athletes competing in the finals of their respective events on Sunday, May 18.
