JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two individual qualifiers and one relay team punched their tickets to the 2025 NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. as the Penn State track and field teams wrapped up the third day of competition at NCAA East Region Preliminaries Friday.
NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIERS
The men’s 800-meter duo of Handal Roban and Allon Clay both advanced to NCAA Championships as Roban finished the race in fourth place at 1:45.47 and Clay finished in 15th place at 1:47.29.
The men’s 4x400-meter relay squad of Roban, James Onwuka, Max DeAngelo and Jake Palermo finished eighth in a time of 3:03.56 to advance to the NCAA Championships and set the fourth-fastest 4x400-meter relay time in Penn State history.
ADDITIONAL EVENT PERFORMANCES
Palermo lowered his No. 3 mark on the all-time program list to 45.75 in the men’s 400-meter race.
Jake Allen finished the men’s 5,000-meter race in 14:28.42.
Ryan Watson finished the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:01.23.
Victoria Atkinson capped off her senior season with a 3.94m (12-11) mark in the women’s pole vault.
Isaac Osifo recorded a 2.05m (6-8 ¾) jump in the men’s high jump.
Emi Erekosima recorded a 15.43m (50-7 ½) jump in the men’s triple jump to set a new outdoor PR and the new No. 10 mark on the all-time program list.

The final day of the NCAA East Region Preliminaries begins at 5:40 p.m. with the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase on Saturday, May 31.
