Q: What was it like to experience the stadium? It’s a full game day and to reach the endzone, to get the applause. What was this setting like?
A: You can feel the atmosphere, the family, the culture, I think its special.
Q: Talk about that connection you had with Drew (Allar), just so quickly it seems to be forming and working.
A: Just chemistry and trust. With a great quarterback like him, I just want to pick his brain and just see the things that he wants.
Q: Was there anything that Trebor (Peña) specifically added to the situation when he got here this summer?
A: His leadership, his culture that he brings, his personality. I think he came in, he’s been himself since day one, and that’s what makes him so special.
Q: This offense has so much it can do. What is it like to play in that much creativity?
A: It’s a blessing. It’s a blessing to have it happen the first game and just learn from it and build on it.
Q: For them (his family) to be able to make that trip, what does that mean here? I know you said they were so important, and why you decided to come to Penn State.
A: Just seeing them in the stands happy, is why I do what I do. So having the opportunity for them to come, it was something special.

Q: Coach Franklin talked a lot about your drive. How do you continue to materialize it? Do you set a lot of goals? How do you maintain that standard day to day when so many things can change?
A: I would say it's definitely the standard, and just upholding it every day. Coach Deion (Barnes) is on us every single day in practice about running to the ball, having fun as well and not putting too much pressure on anything. It's my last year of college, so that's really it.
Q: How important is emotion to you out there on the field?
A: I love this sport. I love my brothers. I do this every single day. We put so much into it, all season, all year long, just for 12 games and possibly a playoff, so I love it. I play with emotion. I feel like I play best when I do. I try to reciprocate that to the defense as well. I'm a leader of this defense now, so people are coming to me and expecting me to come up with the energy.
Q: You forced two turnovers today. Walk us through those two plays. How were you able to get the ball loose?
A: It's just something we practice every single day. Coach Franklin takes pride in turnovers for the defense, so five or 10 minutes every day, we do a turnover drill where we punch the ball out. I just saw the ball and punched it out both times. That's how you win games.
Q: You just got connected by Coach Franklin to Micah Parsons. Obviously, the last time someone was able to have two forced fumbles was Micah in 2019, the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league. What is it like to follow in the footsteps of guys like that and try and make your own legacy?
A: That was the reason why I came to Penn State, following the footsteps of all the defensive ends, the great pass rushers that came here, and my job was just to be the next one. So, it felt great. Time for me to make my legacy.
