Wideout duo on watch list for nation’s top receiver

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State redshirt senior+ wide receiver Trebor Peña and senior receiver Devonte Ross were named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list on Wednesday.

 

The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the college football season’s outstanding FBS receiver. Any player, regardless of position, who catches a pass is eligible for the award.

 

Trebor Pena · R-Sr.+ · WR · 5-10 · 186 · Ocean, N.J. · Ocean Township

  • Named to Paul Hornung Award watch list.
  • Earned second-team All-ACC honors in 2024, while playing at Syracuse.
  • Has appeared in 40 games and made 14 starts in his collegiate career.
  • Owns 109 receptions for 1,212 yards and 10 touchdowns, while averaging 11.1 yards per reception.
  • Averaging 27 yards per kick return on 36 returns, including a touchdown, and eight yards per punt return on 55 returns.
  • In 2024, posted 84 receptions for 941 yards and nine touchdowns. Added 12 carries for 72 yards and a touchdown and 15 punt returns for 120 yards.
  • His 84 receptions were fifth-most in a season in Syracuse history, while his 941 yards were 10th.
  • Led the ACC and ranked 13th nationally with 84 receptions.
  • Finished third in the ACC and 20th nationally with nine receiving touchdowns.
  • Had two 100-yard receiving games.

  • Earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors as a receiver and all-purpose player in 2024 and second-team All-Sun Belt accolades as a return specialist.
  • Played in 39 games, making 13 starts, at Troy.
  • Owns 129 receptions for 1,618 yards and 14 touchdowns, while averaging 12.5 yards per reception. Has added 10 rushes for 37 yards, 24 kick returns for 328 yards and 10 punt returns for 156 yards (one touchdown).
  • Finished the 2024 season with 76 catches for 1,043 yards and 11 touchdowns, while adding 35 rushing yards, 138 kick return yards and 153 punt return yards.
  • His 76 receptions are sixth-most in a season at Troy, while his 1,043 yards are fourth-most.
  • Recorded four 100-yard receiving games.
  • Led the Sun Belt in receiving touchdowns (11; T-7th nationally), while holding second in receptions per game (6.3; T-20th) and third in receiving yards per game (86.9; 16th).
  • Had seven receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown against Nevada (8/31).
  • Posted five catches for 142 yards and a 77-yard punt return touchdown at Iowa (9/14).
  • Made 11 receptions for 229 yards and three touchdowns, including a 98-yard score, against Florida A&M (9/21).
  • Had 11 receptions for 126 yards at Arkansas State (10/26).

 

The Biletnikoff Award is named after Fred Biletnikoff, a member of the pro and college football halls of fame, who was a consensus All-America receiver t Florida State and an All-Pro receiver for the Oakland Raiders.

 

The semifinalists, finalists and award recipient are selected by the highly distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of 600 prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, Biletnikoff Award winners and other former receivers.

 

The Biletnikoff Award will announce its semifinalists on Nov. 17 and finalists on Nov. 25.

 

The winner of the Biletnikoff Award will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN on Dec. 11, 2025.
